The working paper presented was “Do Informal Workers in Small Firms Self-Insure for Retirement?” There, we explore how individuals working in small firms in Peru decide how to plan and save for retirement. We collected survey data on expectations, planning, and saving actions for retirement. We found that individuals consider a portfolio of retirement options, with owning a business as the preferred option.
